Tamiji Kitagawa Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Tamiji was a painter and printmaker who included flowers or birds in many of his lithographs and intaglio prints. Twenty-six of these prints are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Tamiji’s creative drawing style was influenced by the modern art he saw on his visits to America, Mexico and Europe.
